Another of life's milestones achieved

This is a baby post. If you came here for something else, I'm afraid I can't help you out this time.
Well, it was bound to happen eventually. It is, after all, the nature of these things. After many false starts and false alarms, after late nights and deep, heartfelt investigations made by both of her parents, it's finally come to pass.
My daughter is no longer toothless.
It's not too visible yet, but you can definitely feel the sharp little thing coming through her gum. This explains some of the otherwise inexplicable crying spells she's been having; it's been a long time coming, after all. Soon, she too will be able to experience the gastronomical pleasures her parents indulge in.
Or not; she's still a little young for cheeseburgers and pizza. We are, however, going to have to come up with an excuse other than, "You don't have teeth," in the not-too-distant future. (Tiffany says that I should explicitly mention that holding food hostage from our daughter is entirely my idea; she doesn't intend to withhold pizza and cheeseburgers from Brontë for nearly as long as I think we should.)
Anyway, that's my news. Congratulations, sweetheart; it gets interesting from here on out.

My suggestion for the replacment of "you don't have teeth" would be "you only have tooth." This should work for the time being, at least until she develops the phrase: "yes but many things can be effectively gummed, now gimme that cheeseburger"

Don't be stingy...give that girl a bite.

I would like to add however, that I'm a big fan of the withholding food from babies camp, nothin' but breastmilk for a year (maybe some rice cereal at 6 months).

Baby didn't get anything but milk until she was 6 monthes. But on recomendation from her doctor among others we have started her on food. She wants food I haven't given her any meat but Do give her fruit and veggies. She also likes cheerios. They need more food when they are pre walking. She gets just as much milk as she has ever got plus she gets the other. I don't think that milk only, for Bronte, would have been the best way to go, she would have droppped too much weight (she is under weight anyway). I don't really feed her table food. Cheeseburger nor frenchfries will not be on the menu for a long while. Patrick is wanting to hold off till she has a full set of teeth. I have never had a full set of teeth. I really beleave that each child must be feed according to their individual needs.

No no, of course you're right, you have to feed babies what they need...I'm also a big fan of veggies and fruit and cheerios etc (at 4-6 months) but people here tend to start their kids on mac-n-cheese and hotdogs and McDonalds as soon as they can sit in a high chair and I think thats weird. Carry on good parents. :)
