Okay, now for the rest of the family

I suppose it's time I introduced everyone to the rest of my family. You've seen copious pictures of my daughter, several of my wife, and even a few of Atalanta, my cat. I don't think I've ever introduced people to my dog, though.

This is D.O.G. I didn't give her that name, but I couldn't bring myself to change it, either. I have a thing about changing an animal's name if it comes to me with one. I just don't think it's right, any more than changing a child's name for the heck of it. Don't know why, that's just how I am.

This is the newest addition to the family. Say hello to Maddie, a mutt my sister-in-law Heather rescued, along with two litter-mates. She and her husband didn't have to room to take care of three puppies, so we wound up with this one. She's sweet, and seems to like D.O.G. a great deal (the reverse may or may not be true; D.O.G. is at least 11 years old, and Maddie's something like 7 or 8 weeks at the outside, so there's some difference in mobility and general energy level). Unfortunately, she's also at the puppy "chewing everything" stage, so we're in the process of trying to convince her that the chew toys are there for a reason.

That's it for now; time for me to go lie down and read a book for a while.
