Hello all,
Recently if you visit my house, you might notice a yeasty fragrance in the air. No we are not experimenting with home brews. I am experimenting with sour dough bread. It has been very frustrating.
A week before Christmas, I started a sour dough starter, to use for rolls. It never got a good start, so on Christmas we rushed around looking for rolls. So I gave it another go...and ended up with a wonderful foamy concoction that was wonderful and just what the recipe called for, please I put in the fridge for safe keeping until Friday, My newly appointed bread baking day!
Then it happened...so okay I happened! Thinking I was warming up Mexican pile up meat for my hubby's lunch, I put the cool whip container in the microwave for 2 minutes on high. When I opened the container I was horrified to find my hard work was for not. I did get a good rise but then it turned into a yeasty goo.
Sour dough is alot of work, I am giving it a break until I can get a clear glass jar to hold my mess and recover from my broken heart. I want to be able to see that I am not microwaving something that can take 6 or more days to start. I am still going to try bread baking on Friday but it will be normal home baked whole wheat bread.
Bronte, hasn't taken a nap until ...well now! It is 8 pm. She is convinced that she is missing something. She isn't. I had her on a loose schedule but she is growing up and the schedule needs adjusted. The doctor still thinks she needs 2 naps during the day. The doctor needs to tell her because she isn't listening to me.
I am painting the front bathroom. I am aging the walls...I am going for that abused look, painting cracks , dirty, etc. I think it looks cool, very old world. I post a photo when I finish.
Well, goodnight and God bless,
Tiffany
