We got to see the film from the IVP test last week, and the good doctor showed us how the repair was wide open and everything seemed to be functioning just fine. The dilation of the kidney seems to be entirely cosmetic, and Doc W. seems to be very happy with how things have turned out.
On the problem B has been having with pain (or some other sensation) on the right side, where there really isn't much of a kidney to be feeling pain, Doc W. couldn't see or feel anything that would lead him to believe that anything was up. It's entirely possible that what she's feeling is a result of her fall and the broken collar bone, and all that's needed is some pediatric chiropractic care or something similar.
In short, today's appointment went swimmingly and all seems to be well.
