Well, having discovered the initial suggester, contacted our mothers, informed our families of the decision, and warning the cat that she might possibly have a new home, we're finally ready (I think) to inform the rest of you of our choice for the baby's name.
But first, a brief side-trip into that fun, wacky place we call "The Mouth of the Babe" segment: A couple of nights ago, Miss B was a little antsy as we were saying prayers before going to bed. We stopped her, settled her down a little bit, and asked her if she remembered what she was doing. She nodded and replied, "Prayering."
A little while back, Tiffany had a dream where our new baby was given this name. Completely independently, her sister likewise had a dream where the baby had this name. One of the main characters in Miss B's favorite book also has this name (well, a form of it, anyway). Of all of us here at Chez Goodman, I was the only one who didn't have some sort of connection to the name except for just kind of liking it.
It was one of a very small selection of names we'd narrowed things down to when we put them into a bowl, stirred them up, and let Brontë reach in and pull one out. When it came up, Tiff and I both knew that God had chosen it and had been letting us know indirectly for some time.
Now we know his name, it's getting harder and harder for me to wait to meet Samuel Goodman. Still got four months and change to go, however, so I guess I better cool my jets for the time being.

Well done. I believe in dreams, too.
I'm also a big believer in dreams, so I think this is excellent. I also really like the name Samuel so excellent!
