Sam has a bottom tooth. It will make eating so much easier for him. Maybe he'll choke less. Maybe he's just helping me keep my first aid training sharp. Maybe?
Miss B is starting school officially soon. We are using a Unit Study program called Five In A Row. I was going to make my own but let's face it, people, you know this if you've been reading long: I am disorganized. The people at Five in a Row have done all the work for me. We bought some of the books on EBAY. I plan to try Before Five in a Row with Sam but we haven't bought it yet (still looking for a good deal).
For Bronte, we have bought the first volume in the series, the Christian character studies, the holiday units, and the cookbook. We have also bought a group of reading books used throughout the series. We'll probably check the rest out at the library. Some books that I know that we'll be buying are the "Jesse Bear" books. Those are used in the "Before Five in a Row" for toddler age. My niece Dakotah LOVED them.
For Mathematics we are using a primer from the 1800's until she gets to about 8 or 9. Then we will use Saxon Math (well that's the plan for now). I really want Miss B to have better math skills than I have. My math skills stalled at 6th or 7th grade. She will have to be self-taught after that point but hopefully by giving her a good foundation in math my own math skills will improve. We will be using the Robinson Method starting at about 10 to 13 depending on how they are doing. Patrick and I both really think self-pacing and self-teaching is important for teenagers.
I could go on but I am not feeling well so I will leave the rest for later.
GOD bless ya'll,
Tiff
