Went to hang out with our friends Derek and Magen this weekend. Chicken was barbecued, computers disassembled, Wii Fit was played, as were some other Wii games. If I ever decide I need a game console (and that's so unlikely as to be ridiculous), it'd be a Wii. Tiffany and I both played on the Wii Fit (a video game exercise system, if you didn't know and can believe it), and oh, were we feeling it today....
Prior to going to Derek and Magen's place, we went to Barnes & Noble, as is our custom. I got a chance to give the new Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Player's Handbook a quick look-over, and at first glance it seems quite nice. Some real changes to the system, but nothing so extreme as to require a revolt in the streets (though that's what some fans seem to be staging...loons). I'll have to give it more of a careful read-through some time later, but since I don't play D&D all that much anymore, it's not a high priority.
Out of the Mouth of the Babe segment: As we left the bookstore, a gentleman rode up on a bike and said hello to our daughter as we were getting her out of her stroller and into the car seat. She seemed delighted to see someone riding a "bike eagle," and spoke of it often for most of an hour afterward. She also took enormous pleasure in Derek's radio-controlled cars and the guitar controllers for their Rock Band game. They make Rock Band for the Wii now, so it's probably just as well that I don't have a console of any time because that would be more time-sink than I need or think I could handle.
While I'm going to get back into the habit of actually posting pictures, right now I'm kind of in the mood to print and mount them and hang them on walls. To that end, I've discovered that I'm kind of interested in one of these. My first instinct was to go for something bigger, but the fact is that if I need to cut a mat bigger than 16x20, I'm going to get someone else to do it for me.
