So there was this guy in my high school who wore dentures. He hadn't lost all of his teeth but never had any come in. Nobody on his mother's side ever did. We don't have that... I DID only have 3 wisdom teeth and none of them had roots. (lack of wisdom?Ha.)
So we were fairly sure that Sam would get teeth someday. Maybe he would have to wait for his adult teeth but someday. Well, lately he's been running a low grade fever and been very clingy, but he's also been having a lot of problems with his eye. Now here is where I point out that Bronte never had ANY signs or complaints of teething EVER. One day the things were just there...and yes, she was about 10 months. Well last night Sam bit the bejabbers out of my upper arm and it hurt. Turns out our little monster has a vampire tooth...just the one, but the other vampire teeth are showing signs of being next, before the normal tops and bottoms. He won't let the resident dentist see it, which puts Miss B out. She wants to take him to the doctor because "She can get him to be still. I want to see."
EDIT: Okay, I say she didn't complain, but you can follow this link to see Miss B's first tooth story.
Prayers are needed for Sam's eye. He is supposed to have surgery but I really am hoping to avoid it. His tear duct is clogged and infected. Memaw had this surgery and had LOTS of problems, so many that she had to have it a few times for them to fix it. We have an appointment in April to see the eye doctor and get her opinion.
Miss B wants to get pictures of Sam's Teeth but he's not biting...I know I am horrible! Ha.

Remember I told you Pat was late getting his teeth, and they came in the 2 middle bottom and then the vampire teeth. Within a few days all 8 showed up. I think all my babies ran a little fever with their teeth, although the doc assured me that babies don't do fever when cutting teeth. I guess my kids didn't get the memo. About the tear duct...Ashley had to have the little things opened. He will be just fine.
Also, about Sam's tear duct...keep in mind that docs have come a long way since Memaw was a baby.
AHhhhh.... Memaw had the eye surgery two years ago by the top eye surgeon in Texas. Yes, you are right they have come along ways since she was a baby. And the fact that she's eighty might be why it was so hard for her.

My nephew, Hunter, had this done a few weeks ago. I'm SURE it will be ok. Also: vampire teeth=adorable!
AND I've never seen a kid who didn't have a little fever while cutting teeth. It's all good.
