firequackers

It sounds like the neighbors are hitting a house (theirs? ours?) with their firequackers. I haven't heard any screaming yet. The air is very stinky.
I think a whistling one just hit my Zucchini plant. That will be very messy as there WERE about 14. One was almost 18 inches long (can you eat them while they are still yellow?). Not that there is anything to eat if it explodes!
Happy 4th of July! Don't blow a hand off or put an eye out (the very good reasons my mother always gave for us not setting our own off...I did stick a lit sparkler in my sister's eye...accident, promise).
